Classical and traditional music in Kraków

 

Concerts in St. Peter and Paul's Church - Grodzka St. at 8:00 p.m.:

We would like to take you into a short journey through the magnificent world of the gratest classical music. Sense the beauty of A.Vivaldi's finest baroque music callendar - The Four Seasons; think back to the magical sounds of unforgettable film music themes of our times and relax while listening Your Favourite Classics such as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik W.A.Mozart. You will have an opportunity to experience with us all of these works live in St.Peter and Paul's Church at the concert of The Orchestra of City of Cracow.

  • Chopin - Mozart  (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with the Cracow Chamber Orchestra of St. Maurice

Chopin Concerts (at the 17th Century Antique Hall - Bonerowski Palace, 1 Św. Jana St. or in Polonia House - 14 Main Square) at 7:00 p.m.:

 

We welcome you very warmly and cordially to our concerts dedicated to Frederic Chopin's Works - the icon of the classical Polish and European music and the real poet of the piano. Frederic Chopin was born in 1810 in Żelazowa Wola near Warsaw. He spent the rest of his life in Paris, where he died in 1849. The pieces of music composed by Frederic Chopin are full of longing for his beloved country, they are full of expressions and romanticism.

 

Opera Delights Concerts in St. Gile's Church - 65 Grodzka St. at 7:00 p.m.:

  • W. A. Mozart Le Nozze Di Figaro (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • J.S.Bach, Ch.Gounod, F.Haendel, F.Schubert

Concert of Jewish Music in Galicja Jewish Museum - 18 Dajwór St. (Kazimierz) at 7:00 p.m.:

  • Nazzar Group (Sunday)

Nazzar group was founded in 2006. The members of the group have been joined by common passion to music. All of them graduated from the Cracow's Academy of Music. Nazzar group is especially privileged to perform traditionally 'klezmer' music in their own arrangements with elements of Jewish, Balkan and Galician music. They also perform original 'klezmer' pieces, trying to join traditional forms with elements of improvisation. They recorded a CD with the most popular compositions performed during the concerts. Musicians give concerts both Poland and abroad. Last time they received 3rd award of the 11th New Tradition Polish Radio Folk Music Festival in Warsaw.

 

Polish Folk Feast (songs, dances and dinner) - every Monday and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in 'Morskie Oko' Restaurant - 8 Szczepański Square:

 

Polish Folk Feast is a performmance, which combines the elements of Polish culture and tradition. The Golden Pigeon folk group performs the most popular Polish dances and presents original national customs from different regions of Poland. Our guests have the possibility to learn about traditional Polish costoms, as well as to dance and sing Polish songs with Folk Group.

Polish Folk Feast contains traditional dinner (soup and main course) to show our guests how tasty and various is Polish cuisine. The show takes place in highland stylized resteurant 'Morskie Oko' (cellar without a lift) where real Polish folk atmosphere is always present.
